Both the 2000 and 3000 are excellent machines. The Hermes 3000 is widely acclaimed, but I must admit I have a soft spot for the 2000, which I find has a nicer design, and an equally special feel to it. The Hermes 2000 came in many different designs, I wonder which ones you'll get. My favourite is the original black version with the thin keys (http://typewriters.ch/collection/hermes_2000.html). Regards
Great to hear from you again, and wonderful to hear you're in good health. For some reason Hermes machines just never make their way here into Ohio country. Lots of Royals and Smith Coronas, not much in the way of European machines. We expect a full report.
Hey Matt- Welcome home man. I thought you were giving me the 2000. Just Kidding. I just picked up a 3000 today in 14 pitch. Man that's small type. Hope your new machines come soon. Keep blogging.
Lucky, lucky fellow! I'm certain you will enjoy them immensely. Hermes 3000's are really amazing machines. (:
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your recovery also!
You know, I kinda hate you. Typewriters falling into your lap... *sigh*... Guess being a hobo really is the life for me, as that doesn't happen.
ReplyDeleteBut honestly, congrats on making it through. :) Very proud of you--I know how hard a road it is.
